Interviews

Influenced by a range of artists and different genres, Jen Berkova is here with R&B pulsations and synth melodies to let us travel into her world of lyricism.

Talking around a topic we are all familiar with, this single is about aspiring to get out of the house and head on a journey to live life. We all get bored of routine lets not lie!

“Adventure time was created out of pure boredom. With nothing but the walls of my home, I was left to imagine adventures, trips, romance and beyond. This track was soo fun to create. When people listen, I hope it can spark excitement to live in the present and dream big.” - Jen Berkova

Accompanied by a timeless music video, Jen physically takes us on a journey. Winding through different life paths, we get to witness her escapism from her front room to a new adventure. With 90's inspired visuals, Jen's unparalleled vocals and the perfect amount of groove and funk. We are big fans of her and we know Jen is here to stay!

“Since my last single and especially during lockdown, I’ve been taking time to really build my sound. I realised I have a deep passion for creating heartfelt lyrics but adding a serious groove to it. I’ve been performing lots with my band and collectively working with my producer to blend together a mix of R&B, afro fusion and pop.” - Jen Berkova

Afrobeats and groovy synths, perfectly describe Adelina and her latest track ‘Butter’.

London based singer sets her single aglow with a mixture of genres, a prospect that makes her memorable.

Adelina explains; "Whilst working on a song I’ve felt like we’ve created a new genre unintentionally: futuristic Afro pop. The record contains afrobeats grooves along with electronic samples and futuristic synths. I feel like if Weeknd jumped into afrobeats world that would be it.”

Self-directing the visual music video that accompanies ‘Butter’, Adelina has endless involvement in her music, perfectly transporting us into her world.

“I always take part in every aspect of my artistry, whether it’s styling, directing, graphics, music production etc. With this video, I took a step to deliver the idea I’ve had for a while: Matrix inspired visual shot on VHS cameras along with futuristic holograms and completely different styling for each scene, to showcase how I transform into different looks like a chameleon. The idea behind the video is to follow your heart instead of brain, and it shows in the beginning of the video when I’m selecting the program of "Follow Your Heart" and loading it into my body. You will hear associated lyrics with this concept along with the bionic heart symbolism in multiple shots. I wanted to take people on this interstellar journey when I directed “Butter” along with the talented Dree (Brotherslab)”

Adelina shot to the forefront of the music world with her single ‘One World’ which she worked on with world-renowned and Grammy-winning producer RedOne – most notably known for his work with Ava Max, Lady Gaga, Michael Jackson, Rod Stewart, One Direction, Jennifer Lopez. The song went on to gain international success hitting 32+ million views on YouTube alone and catching the attention of Forbes. ‘One World’ was then adopted the song as the official anthem for the 2018 FIFA World Cup and is broadcasted up until this day in over 25 countries to billions of viewers.

Lizzie is back after the release of her SAY Award shortlisted debut EP ‘Cubicle’ last February, on 7476 (a label with recognised talent such as Matilda Mann, Matt Maltese, tinyumbrellas - to name a select few)!

Lizzie Reid is here with 'Bible' to stick by her name as a success of a single. Based on the theme of being closed off and building up the trust to open herself fully again to others. This track pulls focus at Lizzie's distinct vocals, beautifully layered with guitar chords and mellow beats. This song is holy.

With so much love surrounding her music, Arlo Parks is a big fan, even inviting her to support two sold out shows on her tour.

“I wanted to get things right this time, be important to someone, and not to bring my anxieties into the picture. Becoming involved with someone tends to bring up things within yourself. It holds a mirror up and forces me to look at myself through someone else’s eyes.” - Lizzie Reid
