SOFY - Bored In Colour (Pt.2) EP
SOFY returns with her second EP of the Bored in Colour series. Driving and dosing around with her chatty-but-cheeky lyrics, this EP perfectly sums up how SOFY is at the brink of blinding everyone with her brilliance. With some already familiar tracks such as 'Big Talk' which features as one of the FIFA23 songs, 'Egomaniac' and 'btw', I urge you to listen to Bored In Colour (Pt.2) for a bit of 00's brit-pop.
Dylan Flynn And The Dead Poets - More
‘More’ is a laid back Americana influenced track, that is a slight detour from the bands usual upbeat Indie-Rock sound. With country-esque drums complimented by gentle pickled guitars and saxophone lines. The lyrics of the song reflect on different snippets of Flynn’s life where himself, and others close to him, felt that there was more to be gotten out of life. The track touches on themes friendship, lost time and regret.
Mary Middlefield - This One's For You
‘This One’s For You’ showcases an atmospheric sonic, which she co-produced alongside frequent collaborator Gwen Buord that demonstrates a more upbeat side to Mary. Continuously pushing her songwriting abilities to the limit, Mary reflects on meeting her soul mate in the song with lines such as "Laying under blue skies talking to you, I haven’t met you yet, someday I’ll get to.” capturing the essence of a budding romance.
House of EL - Tonight
“‘Tonight’ touches on the current age we live in and have lived through, at a high level I think there is so much noise going on that it’s hard to hear yourself think with all that’s going on in the world and at a granular level I think it’s touching on the fact that we all essentially want to feel appreciated and seen... or I guess loved. The video further tells the story... I just want to tell stories and make you think but this one - I want you to dance too.” - House of EL
ROSIE - Startover
'Startover' sees ROSIE heading in a more uptempo, uplifting direction, both sonically and lyrically. The song builds with a delicate piano melody and ROSIE’s emotive vocals before exploding into an irresistibly catchy yet heartfelt chorus: “So can we start over / Maybe letting go is how we get closer / And if ending us is how we get closure / Let’s say goodbye and then we’ll start over / Can we start over.”
Emilia Tarrant - Best Friend Heartbreak
Stripped-back from her usual bright pop sound, Emilia lets us indulge in her vocals and narrates us through a friendship breakup. Emilia mentions;“This is probably the rawest song for me that I’ve released to date. I’m not going to lie, it’s pretty sad...! It’s a story I’ve been trying to write about and get off my chest for a couple years now, and then ‘Best Friend Heartbreak’ came along. It’s not often you hear songs about friend breakups, but as such a relatable subject, there should definitely be more." With a music video that visually brings the story to life, Emilia is an artist involved with every end of her music.
Spring & I - Enough Debut EP
Ditte Angelo and Marie Friis rise against the patriarchy and rigid power structures with the release of their independent debut-EP, ‘Enough’. The Copenhagen electronic producer-duo unite hard hitting club sounds with pensive themes.
“The songs come from a mutual feeling of having had enough. We want to fight privilege blindness and the distrust in stories and experience that we feel are being underminedwhen coming from minorities in our society. ‘Enough’ is our way of claiming our freedom to speak up and stand out –the loudest voice, we as artists, could possibly release into the world".
WIINSTON are becoming vastly known for their own sound and take on musical tendencies. Striving through their artistic ambitions, their latest single 'care4' is a new teaser to their upcoming album. 'care4' challenges the theme of harm between people and holds a deep aggression over a smooth and melodic rhythm.
The duo, singer Daniel Richards and producer Alfred Thomas, took a vast amount of inspiration from different genres including indie, folk, RnB and hints of hip hop. Proving successfully that no artist should be strict in their genre lanes. Also working with on this track is WIINSTONs and well-known artist Joji's - 'Glimpse Of Us' friend/songwriter CASTLE!
"When making music, to us, every aspect is equally important ‘cause when we limit ourselves to only one genre it doesn’t feel like we created anything, really–then we just remade something that already is. We aspire to make this our mutual philosophy in the studio,” the duo says.
