A single that is quite literally out of this world, it follows an intergalactic love affair through time. Goldpark mention: "Love is the closest thing that we have to magic. It’s the only thing that drives us to cross countries, oceans, or even galaxies. There are traces of love in every truly great thing that we can see, hear or touch. All great art comes from some form of love. It doesn’t all look the same though. Sometimes it’s the fear of love. Or maybe the feeling of being broken over love. But it’s all love. Lady Lightyear is a song for all of the Milky Way and beyond to enjoy together. Leave the door open for love somewhere in the stars. Leave the door open for love somewhere in the stars."

Whilst summer is just starting here, The Collision. are already planning ahead and dropping all their natural talent into their latest single 'Baby In Winter'. The 5-piece-band have developed an alt- pop/rock sound, making it truly their own with colourful chords and packed with personality. If you're looking for an uplifting, groovy and ideal song for summer, you've found it.

Talking on 'Baby In Winter', The Collision. mention:

"'Baby in Winter’ explores the commercialism we are bombarded with daily. It’s told through a lens of nostalgia and the music conveys how easy it is to be consumed by consumerism. The truths of the verses are glossed over by the catchy hook. Built on a groovy and infectious chorus, the song plots the battle between the joys and trappings of materialism. This hopeful banger is laced with longing for the simplicity of days gone-by which is overtaken by the infinite pleasures of today."

Member Diarmuid said“‘Baby in Winter’ really lifts you up inside and it persuades you to be yourself.” Whilst other member Ciaran said “It’s my favourite track from the EP. I love writing with Diarmuid and I think ‘Baby in Winter’ shows how well our contrasting styles work together.

The Collision. also treat us with a music video for the track. With strong retro visuals and ultimate space age feeling groove, they surround ripped up newspaper and CD's suggesting they are breaking the form of mainstream.

Think if Florence + The Machine and Amy Winehouse had a child, Gabby Rivers would be the perfect combination of both. Swaying away from typical pop music, Gabby has an extra layer of energy infused in her songs.

Bringing us her brand new single 'UH OH', she tells us her story of lockdown and how she coped with the overwhelming time. This song is a coping mechanism for us all.

Talking on the track, Gabby says;

"The single was written in Lockdown where I spent a lot of time on my phone. I was really hard on myself and was comparing my life to others, I wanted to start my life again and felt very overwhelmed with my life. I wrote the song as a coping mechanism which worked really well."

Playing with her band made up of: Jason Rampling, Jan Ashwell, Coran Elsey and Gabby herself. They create a euphoric atmosphere, a perfect place for Gabby's vocals to sit. Mastered at Abbey Road, 'UH OH' is a perfect example of their sound.

Gabby has played several live shows including Latitude festival, where she played to a crowd of 500. Along with ardent support from BBC introducing and BBC 6 music. Gabby and her band also supported Larkins at one of their shows.
