Taking a refreshing take on self-care, positivity and optimism in 'New Sun', Kat King is not only a group of happiness but a place for you to reset your perspectives. Reflecting their colourful chords with their aesthetic, it all pulls together, making us so intrigued to what they have to say.

Laden with bass and guitar rhythm followed by a bright drum beat, you can't help but feel gleeful about the future for Kat King.

Kat explains:

"This is the first song we truly wrote as a band. Daniel and John were laying down this sick bass line/beat at practice and it really blossomed from there. It felt like a road trip song. Lyrically I tried to highlight the importance of escaping how bad the world can be by going on a trip, soaking up time with your friends, maybe ride the wave of a psychedelic to hopefully be

reminded of what's good and try to exist as an active citizen without the constant state of

doomsday. A necessary recharge."

Pulling focus at his distinct indie soundscape, 'You Belong To Me' is just Harvey and his guitar which cements the power of his music. With an emotional side to this song, we witness a love story but perhaps an unconventional one. In his own words;

“’You Belong To Me' is my ode to music. Originally written in an afternoon before a gig in an

attempt to break up the set towards the end, it captivated the audience with its acoustic vibe,

and its simplicity makes it very easy to sing along to. I loved how this song I wrote about my

feelings towards music made people interact with music itself, and therefore I decided to

record and release it for people who feel the same way. Music has been a part of my life

from the very beginning, so thank you music - you belong to me.”

In no time, we feel Harvey Jay Dodgson will be an effortless voice of a generation.

Starting to write songs from the age of 12, Emilia has a lot of personal passion for her music. 'Same For Me' is a production of perseverance, filled with blissful beats and captivating chords, Emilia's strong vocals open the track. This song is about the people who know you the most, who would do the same for you when times are low?

Emilia says; “Someone very close to my heart inspired me to write ‘Same For Me’. The song is about supporting the ones you love at their lowest moments, even by taking on the simplest of errands, and knowing that they’d do the same for you. My person has constantly done this for me, and that is something I’ll forever be grateful for.”

Emilia also dropped a music video alongside the single release. Focused on one of the first lines in the track "I wake you up with a coffee..." , we follow Emilia around several locations whilst her being centre shot with a cup of coffee. A visual representation of how far you'd go for someone who would do that for you.

Speaking on the track, Emilia mentions; "Shooting in multi-locations, we used it as a visual metaphor for the whole song. Tom director and I had a lot of fun shooting this one, although, it was definitely more technical than it looks!”
