"Flourishes of considerate, impactful accompaniment, these quietly devastating songs accomplish a lot with a little"

- NME Australia

We toast Ruby Gill… and her bittersweet lamentations and celebrations

- The Sunday Times

'I'm gonna die with this frown on my face', the debut album from Ruby Gill! This twelve track album comes with some already familiar tunes that have been enticing us in for months. With themes of self-deprecating humour, unhealthy attraction and so many more clever consumptional lyrics.

Shot By Al Parkinson

The track 'I forgot to be profound today' is a piano-led percussion in which Ruby describes as a “small act of defiance against a job that makes me tired and a world that I never feel truly interesting enough for”. This track opens the entrance to what Ruby has to say.

Originally from South Africa, Ruby now lives in Melbourne Australia. You can't help but to wonder if this move influenced any of Ruby's songwriting especially in her song 'Borderlines'. Ruby is praised as one to watch especially with the textures in her music and concepts that surround her imagery.

If you want that old school 90's punk and passion, Doll Riot are absolutely defining their name with a whole lot of fiest and femininity.

'Get A Life' is aimed at anyone who gets in the way.

Joining forces in High School Elena Olszak (vocals), Ella Sauer (guitar) and London Kraus (bass) joined forces with their love for similar music. Diving deeper into their influences they teamed up with Lillee Gillum (drummer) to finalise a new era of music for Doll Riot.

Making a ripple in the punk scene over in San Diego, Doll Riot are becoming known for their passion, high-energy, fearlessness and their social conscious comments within their music. Capturing fresh angst and awareness they have that 'American' teenage lifestyle,

'Get A Life' is described as a 'true rebellious anthem', with a catchy melody hidden under packed percussions layers. This one is definitely for those with hidden frustrations.

The three-piece band making ripples across the sea, set out with a new release 'Wait Some Time'.

Starting out as an original two-piece with Dan O'Shaughnessy and Liam Brady they knew they wanted to hit the tracks running with an additional member. After releasing their first single 'Yellow Ribbon', Mike O' Sullivan joined the band to invent a whole new sound for Ratios.

Ratios have played at some of Dublin's most iconic venues for upcoming bands including Whelan's, Fibber Magees, The Workman's Club and more recently opening for Desert Storm whilst they were on tour.

'Wait Some Time' is an infectious invitation into Ratios distinct sound. With a music video accompanying soon, Ratios explain;

“The main guitar riff in Wait Some Time was written 8 years ago but was never developed until recently. The song quickly came together quickly over two rehearsal sessions when the main riff was played and ideas began to flourish.”

“The song itself portrays a delusional state of mind and the struggle to break through a maze of uncertainty and indecisiveness. Whilst trying to break through barriers, waiting on oneself to do so seems like the only key.”

"The song is energy driven from start to finish. That was our aim from when we began to write it. We wanted to create something different that we feel stands out from others. We blended indie-rock elements and an energy driven punk chorus to portray an eclectic mixture of our creative influences."
