Spinning Round As A Return, Maggie Releases New Track - 'Circles'

Raised in a suburb in Oslo, Norwegian-Serbian Maggie releases her latest single ‘Circles’ on September 30th. It’s clear to see why she’s been called one of the most notable new singer-songwriter talents, garnering praise and support from local and international radio and media.

Maggie’s newest song, ‘Circles’ is laid on an emotional landscape, where Maggie sings about the feeling of being captivated by someone and being in love with that feeling. Themes of hope and love ring throughout the song, and Maggie’s stunning vocals pepper the song with sweetness, demonstrating all of her musical abilities all at once, yet still leaving us wanting more from her!

In an insight into the creation of ‘Circles’, Maggie said:

"Circles is about that good feeling you get when you’re captivated by someone. You‘re trying

to hold on to that feeling because you really don't want it to go away. Circles was written and

produced in my bedroom during lockdown last year and I wanted to show a softer side of

myself. I wanted to create a warm atmosphere and bring out a mood that draws the listener

closer.”

The single is paired with Maggie’s debut music video, which premiered with Wonderland Magazine, who have described her sound as “sensational, electronic-imbued alt pop”.

Maggie’s interest and love for music stemmed in childhood, while her tastes were under the influence of her musician father, who’s love for the classics such as Ella Fitzgerald, Frank Sinatra and Prince began what would turn into a successful passion for Maggie. While completing her musical education Maggie enhanced her song writing skills, as well as perfecting her vocals and production. This developed as one of Maggie’s mentors signed on as her manager after her talent presented itself. Serving as a platform for Maggie’s producing skills to grow, she was able to overcome doubts and go from strength to strength as an artist.

Speaking on her journey, Maggie said:

“I was surrounded by men. You know, 90% of the people I work with are men. And it’s not that they’re not good, but I realized I was limiting myself and not feeling fulfilled. So then I was like, ‘Fuck it’” she says. “I just threw my fear out the window and started producing, writing and recording all on my own…I started from nothing and I’m doing it by myself. I want people to take inspiration from that” she says. “They too can find their independence. It took me a long time to get to the stage I am at now, but I needed those years of experience. It has made my music what it is today and so much stronger”
