Noah Slee has poured out his heart and memories with his album 'it takes a village'. With a wide range of influences and stunning soundscapes, Noah explains what it means to have so many souls intertwined in community. A beautiful collection of symphonies.
This album is surrounded with soul, RnB and alternative pop tendencies with already released singles 'RISE (feat. LVJ)', 'HEALING' and most recent track 'GOLDEN (feat Joy Denalane) setting the direction. Noah knows how important his roots are and thrives within his home culture.
Focus track 'CULTURE (feat. Mulay)' opens with a jazzy feel as he sings about the love he has for his culture. An empowering track.
'I love this song, it’s personal for me. It celebrates culture and owning that part of my identity. It’s definitely been a journey for me to get to this point! Happy to share this moment with Mulay. We had some in depth discussions about what this theme means to US and it was empowering and inspiring to break bread and share our stories and now have all of you partake'.
The album evolves around 9 tracks each as principal as the other. 'WALK' opens the album with harmonic vocals and a leisurely beat creating a glorious atmosphere. Rounding out the album is piano lead track 'END', a suitable name to finish on! This final track is delicate and intricate, it feels thought-provoking but with a sense of gratefulness. It pulls every element to glide us out of the village.
