This year has been full of music for Lizzie Reid, with her releasing previous single 'Bible' and now 'How Do I Show My Love?'. Ahead of her EP releasing later this year, this new song gives us a preview into what to expect from her.
This Glaswegian singer songwriting gives us her vulnerability, the powerful and comforting side to Lizzie. ‘How Do I Show My Love?’ is about not knowing how to express your gratefulness and love. Lizzie describes the feeling of having countless panic attacks and the vicious cycle it can lead you in with your mental health.
“This is another break up song but over time it has taken on new meaning from its original intention. Over the past few years life has been pretty harsh for a lot of people and when I sing this song it makes me feel how hard it has been to stay connected and express my feelings for certain people I care about. I find it hard at the best of times to communicate properly in a way that I would like but that can feel impossible when times are hard and people are forced to be apart.”
Producing the track with Oliver Barton Wood, the pair worked together to create this timeless track. A special side to songwriting is seeing artists being open about their feelings and struggles. Lizzie does just that with every piece of music that comes our way.
