Boy Bleach Blame The Bad Uproar Of Society's Expectations With Track - 'Dance No More'

Updated: Aug 22, 2022

Making an entrance to the music scene in the past 12 months, Boy Bleach are becoming 'the' group to bring society's situations into their music. Channeling issues, expectations and angst in their punk-rock waves, Boy Bleach don't hold back and it's paying off right in front of us.

With a slot to play at Reading and Leeds Festival at the end of summer, this is just the cherry on the top to previous performances including; an EU support tour with YUNGBLUD, supporting Only The Poets and a sell-out show at Camden Assembly.

Their brand new track 'Dance No More' isn't your typical ode to life, it channels the broken structure of society. Explaining how people work so hard and gain nothing because it doesn't build any attention, especially touching on how inheriting 'luck' is the key to why people are seen as successful. A single with an uncomfortably unafraid attitude to accept the failings of reality.

Speaking on the track, Boy Bleach explain;

“It’s a song about struggle for us. As so many others, we’ve worked fucking hard & have somehow managed to be seen in somewhat of an oversaturated space shrouded in nepotism and inherited “luck” - not bad for a couple council boys. Dance is a fuck you to this environment, people are grinding themselves to dust trying to be something they’re proud of and they really deserve the space but its vacancy is pre-filled. In short we were tired of playing the game just to be noticed and placing so much faith in people who didn’t care, bending to fit the mould to lose what made this important to us in the first place. But unfortunately being able to afford this luxury costs a lot more than we have.”

'Dance No More' follows on from Boy Bleach's recently released EP - 'or are you normal?', which hit on some very important topics from mental health to toxic masculinity. This was a pack full of what the boys have to say and preaching things that people run away from.
